This Coteaux Du Giennois blanc 2015 from Domaine Chauveau is fresh, crisp, fruity and light. Just north east of the ever so popular Sancerre and Pouilly fumé appellations, lies the lesser known, but not to be ignored Coteaux Du Giennois. Awarded its 'appellation controlée' in 1998, vines are planted in silica and limestone soils across vast and varied landscapes, with temperatures averaging near to its neighbouring Sancerre, developing light bodied and crisp flinty wines. This Coteaux Du Giennois blanc is pale lemon with green flecks and has a soft freshness, with a flinty zing and slight green pear and lemon fruitiness. A really great white wine, and less costly than its neighbours down the road. Drink on its own, or great accompaniment with fish and shellfish.
100% Sauvignon blanc
AOC Coteaux du Giennois
The aromatic purity marked by the sauvignon blanc is what characterises this wine. On the nose there are floral and mineral notes, followed by citrus fruits. On the palate it is dry and fresh with subtle fruit and citrus flavours. This sauvignon blanc blend is great drank alone or pairs well with all appetisers, grilled fish and seafood. A very pleasurable easy drinking white wine.
70% sauvignon blanc, 20% semillon, 10% muscadelle
AOC Blaye Cotes de Bordeaux
Cuvee Amelie Chardonnay 2016 from Domaine Cazulet.
The aromas of this un-oaked chardonnay are fresh and fruity. On the palate there is a lovely freshness to it, with a hint of white peach and lemon and good acidity. It is very well balanced with a medium finish. We think this chardonnay is a fabulous wine for the price. If you think you don't like chardonnay, we suggest you try this.
An amazing value organic white wine that oozes Mediterranean sunshine. It is fresh, with good acidity, grassy notes and lemon zest with fruity green apple. All that is needed with this delicious white wine is a bowl of olives and some salted crisps. But if you prefer something a bit more substantial, it pairs really well with grilled white meats, summer salads, shellfish and fish.
60% Marsanne, 30% Grenache blanc, 10% Roussane
AOC St Chinian
100% Chardonnay wine from the great organic vineyard of Stephane Cazulet. This is a very special chardonnay wine and we personally think that if you don't want to pay the price tag for a Burgundy, this is a great substitute. Aged in oak for 6 months, it has a pleasant nose of tropical fruits. It is rich and slightly buttery with delicious fruit of melon, pineapple and nectarine. We think it is quite special. Great with creamy dishes, salmon, and white richer meats.
