Chateau Le Chabrier Le Contrepoint Bergerac 2006

Chateau Le Chabrier Le Contrepoint Bergerac 2006 is quite a dark yellow in colour, which is quite misleading and not in keeping with the beautifully fragrant subtleness of this wine. It has persistent and long lasting aromas of lemon, vanilla and toasted almonds. The taste isn’t overpowering, or heavy, but very slightly earthy (think fern, grassy – one taster said it reminds her of being in a meadow….).  Matured for 12-30 months on lees has made this wine slightly creamy, but still fresh and lightly lemony, with a lingering, elegant and long lasting ‘tingly’ aftertaste.

  • 13% vol
  • 55% sauvignon, 20% semillon, 20% muscadelle, 5% ugni
