Domaine Cazulet Rouge 2014 is a blend of cabernet sauvignon and malbec, which brings freshness and tannic structure. Slightly peppery on the nose, with the merlot making it fruity and velvety. It is slightly mineral which is due to the clay limestone present in the ground (their vines sit on an area known as 'the rock'). It is fresh, fruity, medium bodied with great structure, and it's organic. All in all a well rounded and balanced elegant wine.THIS WINE WILL BE BACK IN STOCK SPRING 2017

Even though the Domaine is within the geographic bounds of AOC Saint Chinian, the percentage of Cinsault excludes it from AOC status, which requires that grenache, syrah, and mourvèdre must combine to total at least 60% of the blend. Therefore, the label reads "Vin de pays des Monts de la Grage". 15 year old vines Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks Slightly peppery on the nose from the Syrah, with subtle toast and earthy notes, along with light and fruity red berries. In the mouth it is firm, with lovely fruity red berry flavours. A very well rounded wine, relatively light and an absolute joy to drink. It has a very fresh and exquisitely fruity aroma of wild red berries, and is a perfect red for summer. This Coteaux Du Giennois Pinot Noir Gamay blend 2015 from Domaine Chauveau is an extremely pleasant light and fruity wine. Just north east of the ever so popular Sancerre and Pouilly fumé appellations, lies the lesser known, but not to be ignored Coteaux Du Giennois. Awarded its 'appellation controlée' (AOC) in 1998, vines are planted in silica and limestone soils across vast and varied landscapes, with temperatures averaging near to its neighbouring Sancerre, developing lighter bodied wine. Didier Desvignes Chiroubles Nature Sans Soufre 2015 is a natural wine with no added sulfur. This producer believes that great wines are produced from healthy and mature grapes, and treats each parcel of vines according to its needs. Chiroubles is made from the Gamay grape (or Gamay Noir à jus blanc), which produce the lighter red wines of northern Beaujolais. We can't get enough of this wine. It is a fabulous vibrant magenta in colour, and has an almost mouth-watering aroma of strawberry sherbert bon bons, flowers and wild red fruits. It is light in body with good flavour, not too weak like some wines from this area. Slightly floral, with wild strawberries and red cherry which combined make for a deliciously aromatic and satisfying wine. This Chiroubles is great to drink slightly chilled on a hot day.

The name comes from Anthocyanins, natural pigments that range from red, purple and blue on black grapes. During vinification of red wine, grape maceration allows gentle extraction of these pigments that give the wine lustre (they are a good anti-ageing antioxidant too apparently)! Mas Des Caprices Anthocyane 2011 is made mainly from Mourvédre, and blended with carignan and grenache. This wine is a beautiful dark purple colour, with a bouquet of black fruits (black cherry, damson), and pepper. Don't underestimate this wine, it has been aged beautifully (16 months in oak barrels), and has some punch, with lush dark fruit and spicy, peppery flavours. Neighbouring the most famous vineyards of Saint-Emilion and Pomerol (Cheval Blanc, La Dominique, Petrus), Château Croque Michotte consists of just about 14 hectres of vines set on clayey sub soils covered in intensely gravelly soil stones/pebbles (graves) and ancient sands. The average age of the vines is 52 years old. The practice of small harvests and very rare use of fertilizers enables the production of wines to conform to the soil and benefiting from a natural acidity crucial to the production of vin de garde (wine for keeping/laying down). The wines are aged, for about twenty months, slowly, depending on the rhythms of the seasons and stay a year in French fine grained oak barrels. They are not filtered and hardly ever fined.
This St Emilion Grand Cru 2011 is a rich dark purple colour. It has wonderfully complex notes of dark fruits, blackcurrant, cedar, earth and vanilla, smooth tannins and a beautiful long lingering finish. A seriously good wine! Chateau Des Tourtes Red Wine Bag in Box – 5L (BIB) Wine bag in box are becoming more popular, with good wineries making the decision to provide these as they are better for the environment and more cost effective than bottles. One of our favourite vineyards Chateau Des Tourtes produce excellent quality wines, and their classique range are now available in 5 litre boxes (or BIB as they are also known), each box holding just over 6 and half bottles of wine. They are perfect for parties and very cost effective without losing the quality of the wine. The packaging keeps air out, meaning the wine can last longer, therefore if you only fancy only 1 or 2 glasses, you can do so without worrying the rest might spoil. Or for dinner parties you can just decant!
